Hi!

My name is Aaron Cendan and I focus on building immersive audio systems and toolsets for games. Check out some of my prior and ongoing work in the Experience tab or browse through the Side Projects in my blog. I’ve also made a rather unconventional Reel, taking a tech sound designers’ approach to UE4’s sequencer. Enjoy, and feel free to reach out through the Contact page!

Other things you may want to know…

I received my Bachelors in Music with a specialization in Ethnomusicology (the interrelation between culture and music) from the University of Chicago in Spring of 2018. While attending UChicago, I dove headfirst into music production and sound design, composing tracks for the school newspaper’s podcast and experimenting with modular synth sfx. In addition to schoolwork, I hosted 100+ person regional gaming tournaments a few times a year and started a company developing custom gaming controllers for players with hand and wrist complications (check out the Stickless tab above for more details). After four years in Chicago, I moved on to study at the University of Central Florida’s master’s program in interactive entertainment, FIEA.

Following graduate school, I worked at Electronic Arts on Madden 21, helping to build, organize, and maintain the intricate systems for the playback of sports commentary audio for the game. Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic forced most studios into working-from-home, I began working remotely for Sony Santa Monica on God of War: Ragnarok. After about a year of working on the game, I accepted a position at Relic Entertainment, and made the move from Orlando, Florida to Vancouver, British Columbia! With no plans of leaving any time soon, I’ve recently been working out of one of Respawn/EA’s Vancouver offices, a brief 10 minute bike ride from my front door. Thanks for reading, and enjoy exploring the rest of my site. :)
